Freddy is 5 months old!!

Holy cow, time does fly when you have kids! When I first delivered Fred, I kept on thinking that we would have to wait forever before we could start feeding him cereal, fruits, and veggies. The time is now here that I have to make a conscious effort to prepare something to feed him nightly. He LOVES food. Well, he has eaten everything we give him as long as it is combined with rice cereal. He just had his first taste of carrots tonight. It took him a little bit to get used to the texture and taste, but finished the bowl I prepared for him. He has also had apple sauce, sweet potatoes (baby food), peas, real sweet potato, and ice cream. I have decided that I am going to make most of the baby food we feed him. It will be less expense and he will be used to the texture and taste of real food so it will be less of a transition from baby food to table food. Plus, he will be used to eating what we are eating.

Today I started watching E. again. It has been about a week and a half since we have seen because of vacations, funerals, and sickness. Just as a reminder, E. is two days younger than Fred. I was shocked when I saw E. He is rolling on to and off of his tummy, pivoting in full circles and is even scooting the slightest bit. I got a little depressed because I have been working on rolling with Fred since he was 2 months old!!! And he still won't roll. His personality is similar to his dad's. He is very laid back and easy going. He just doesn't see the point of rolling yet. He is pivoting, and will scoot backwards; forwards when he is sleeping. He is also sitting for a good amount of time without falling.

Fred went to the doctor's last Friday because I was paranoid about a cough he had. He weighed 15 lbs and 9 oz. He gained a pound and a half in one month. Our doctor is so great. He is so patient with me when I bring Fred in for the smallest things. And he is also patient with waiting to do immunizations.

I also wanted to post about our family home evenings (FHE) We have had FHE for the past two weeks with Audrey. It has been a lot of fun. Our lessons are short and to the point, but fun. Here are some fun pictures from them.

The pictures below are of when we went to the sidewalk chalk festival at the Gateway. It was sooo much fun. I was amazed with what people could do with some fine chalk. Audrey had fun running through the fountain, meeting Snow White, coloring, and eating snacks.
