It is amazing how quick time has gone by this year. So much has happened and we have no record of it. That is pretty sad. I don't even know where to begin, that is why I have neglected this blog so much. I suppose I will start with the person who gave me a reason to start a blog, Freddy.
My baby boy is no longer a baby. He has become a very strong, opinionated little boy. He has his own thoughts, interests, goals, likes and dislikes. His second birth is only weeks away. I try hard not to cry that my baby is growing up. He absolutely loved Christmas! He enjoyed the Christmas tree, lights, and presents. When ever we drove at night time and he saw the lights, he got soo excited he would squeal or laugh. He would also ask, "what's that?" Santa brought him the things he wants most. Two large yellow trucks, a dump truck and a front loader. It took us about 30minutes to convince him to open his presents. His favorite toys are trucks, trains, planes, and balls. That is what he got for Christmas. We spent Christmas weekend with the Crossley's. Freddy didn't get a nap all weekend but did great playing with his cousins.
Audrey was with us for the whole weekend as well, which made it wonderful. She got a princess laptop and some barbie stuff from Santa. She is doing well in kindergarten and loving it. She has become such a great sister for Fred. They laugh and giggle with each other the entire time she is here.
For New's Eve, we went up to the Hawkin's place to play games. Freddy was a trooper. He stayed up with us til we left about 1130pm. We had good food, games and company. It was a great way to ring in the New Year.
My memory has gotten so bad lately. I was talking to my dad and he asked me if I write in a journal daily. Sadly I do not. Freddy is going to ask me how he was as a kid, and I won't know what to tell him. So here is a to a new year of trying to record the happenings of the Crossley family.
I can tell you this...we have had many opportunities to learn and grow as a family this past year. Several things have already changed for us this year. Devan was laid on 6 January. I quit my cleaning job that I did on the weekends. And the family I babysit for cut my hours in half. Having to cut my hours is one thing I had been hoping for in a long time. We just hadn't planned on Devan getting laid off at the same time. Devan has tons of applications out that we are waiting to hear back on. The most exciting one for us is in Oregon. My dad, Randy, got Dev a phone interview for the company he works for, Food Service of American. It is a driving job which makes Dev happy, and it's in Oregon which makes me happy. We are waiting for them to call him back for an in-person interview. Dev is also heading over to Vernal, Utah to apply in person with several companies on Monday. For those who had not heard, Devan went through a Professional Truck Driving Program this last fall. So he has about 3months experience driving a semi-truck. This is a career he as always wanted to get into. We have high hopes that he will be able to find a dream job that will support our family.
I have written quit a bit, so I will close. Thanks for all your love and support. Happy New Year!!
