Job Hunt

This last week has been a bit of a roller coaster. Devan left for Vernal on Monday (1/9) to look for jobs. He felt like he covered a lot of ground by making a bunch of good contacts. There were several companies that told him to go back the next day. They were companies Dev was really interested in, so he stayed the night Monday. After filling out more applications in the morning he headed home. As he was leaving town he got a call from Cory. Cory is a guy Dev had been trying to get a hold of since before Christmas. He had figured that Cory flaked on him by hiring someone else. Cory invited Devan to go for a drive with him out in the oil fields so Dev could get a feel of what the job would entail. They got things set up for Friday. Devan had the day of his life driving Friday.

By the end of the day Cory offered him a job. It is with amazing pay but no benefits. Having benefits is essential for our family, as it is for every family. We have been praying and crunching numbers to see if accepting the job would be the right choice. We are both excited about it but have not made a decision yet. Devan has an interview with Farr/Russle Ice Cream on Tuesday. And another company called him Friday wanting to set up an interview. It is so nice to have one job offer and two other places wanting to interview with him. We plan on making a decision by Wednesday. We'll keep you posted.
