Freddy's Blessing Day

On 2 May we blessed Fred in our Salt Lake ward. When I was younger I never thought I would experience the opportunity to bless my own babies. I believed for a long time that I would be forever single. As Devan blessed him and during the sacrament, I realized how blessed I am to have a such a wonderful husband who truly loves me and our son. I reflected on all the hard times Devan and I have been through and now recognize what a great guy he is for putting up with me and never wanting to quit.

For those who are not members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, this event is to give them a name and a blessing when they are young. The sole reason is to have their names on the church records.

Devan did a beautiful job blessing Freddy. He talked a lot about Fred being close to the Savior, that he may know of his love and turn to him during hard times in his life. Fred was also blessed that he may have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, and be able to take his future wife to the temple.

Here is a picture of all the family members who were able to make it to Freddy's blessing.
Most of the people are from Devan's family.

My parents, Mike and Roselle with Freddy.

And Devan's parents with us as a family.

And we were lucky enough to have Devan's grandparents join us.

And here are some pictures of my parents with Freddy that I just couldn't resist posting.

 They are such GREAT
grandparents
We sure do miss them!!

As usual Fred was stinking cute. My parents came into town for the event and were able to spend quit a bit of time with Fred. As soon as he saw Nana Rose he started talking and smiling like crazy. He would just get so excited he didn't know what to do with himself. He knew right away how special of a woman his Grandma is. He also loved Papa Mike. He would fall asleep without any fight when Papa held him. He was a very obedient child when his grandparents were here. Fred was a pretty quite boy before his grandparents came, and now he is yelling at us to get our attention and to talk to us.
(I will post more pictures on my facebook for those who are interested)
